Villages:

Our park is set in the township and civil parish of Akebar, which, alongside our holiday lodges in Yorkshire for sale, is home to farmhouses and folly. Our closest villages include Finghall, Hunton, Constable Burton, Heselton and Newton-le-Willows.

Towns:

Bedale, Leyburn and Richmond are our closest towns – and all well worth a visit! Bedale is a traditional Yorkshire market town (which gets a mention in the Domesday Book) with a host of unique shops and places to eat. Leyburn is known as the “town for all seasons,” while Richmond, founded by the Normans in 1071, also has a great shopping/dining presence.

Cities:

The city of York is little over an hour’s drive away from Akebar Park, and is consistently ranked as one of the best cities to visit in the UK! Just some of its highlights include The Shambles (famous for inspiring the set for Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter films), the National Railway Museum and its stream of independent pubs and cafes.
