A Brief Background of Yorkshire Golf
Yorkshire is known as the home of golf. And with around 190 Yorkshire golf courses now available to choose from – including ours at Akebar Park – it’s easy to see why!
When you play golf in Yorkshire, you’ll find yourself following in the footsteps of some of the county’s greatest players, such as renowned golf architect Dr. Alister MacKenzie and current highest-ranking golfer in the area, Gareth Johnson.
You’ll also have the fortune to play amidst an array of dazzling natural beauty. At Akebar Park, for instance, you’ll be surrounded by the delights of Yorkshire Dales National Park, as well as a stunning array of wildlife.
But it isn’t just the scenery that pulls golfers to Yorkshire from across the globe. The county has also had the privilege to host the Ryder Cup on three separate occasions and be home to some of the country’s greatest golf clubs.
What truly makes Yorkshire golf courses stand out from the crowd however is their individuality – and, as you’ll see from our gallery below, Akebar Park is certainly not one to be missed!
